About the Speaker:
Felix Martinez, a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio) and seasoned certified RPAS (drones) pilot, brings over a decade of experience as a wildlife biologist to our discussion. With expertise in wildlife monitoring and photogrammetry using RPAS, Felix has played a vital role in various projects, consistently adhering to best practices. His extensive experience includes capturing bats for diverse initiatives, employing telemetry, PIT tags, and genetics to track their movements and identify roosts and species.
Felix serves as a trainer on bat procedures, covering essential topics such as acoustic surveillance, safe bat handling, PIT tagging, morphometry, and sample collection for eDNA. Beyond his work with bats, Felix has led and executed numerous biological monitoring programs for mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. These projects have spanned different geographies, including Canada, Honduras, and Colombia, and have been carried out in collaboration with academic, non-profit, private, and governmental institutions.
