Join local author Amber Cowie for this interactive and engaging writing workshop.
Writers are often told to “write what you know” yet the phrase can sometimes feel stifling. It is true, however, that the things you know will enrich your work in all genres, from fantasy to thrillers to literary fiction. Real details, sensory expressions, and lived experiences connect you to your reader and them to your story.
In this 90 minute interactive workshop, Amber Cowie (The Off Season, Simon & Schuster) will discuss simple methods that integrate your knowledge of body, environment, and history with your work. Bring a notebook and/or a work in progress to try a few techniques that help blend truth and fiction.
This workshop is for adults and registration is required.
