Squamish author and ultramarathoner Randy Klassen will talk about his new book "Perhaps Joy Is the Reward."
What would happen if you were presented with a new, never-imagined path for your life? A path that would require you to do things you never dreamt you were capable of doing. ... If you took that path, could it change you forever?
Come spend an hour with Randy K and be taken into the fast-paced story of Perhaps Joy is the Reward, where a 48-year-old non-athlete "accidentally" made his way from the sofa to the athletic world of mountain ultramarathons, and in the decade of this 50s discovered unknown strength, untapped personal resilience, and depth of community.
Our time together will include select readings from the book, recollections by the author of events and life lessons that make the story significant to a broad audience, and a Q&A time where participants can ask questions about the book's themes, the process of writing the book (a story on its own), and the author's current works in progress.
