Former Squamish resident reads from her new memoir, Fade to Light, the story of leaving a closed religious society, and the aftermath.
Join former Squamish resident Jessica Evans to hear from her recently published memoir Fade to Light: How I Learned to Dissolve Darkness.
Jessica’s first book is an engaging and fast paced insight to the experience of having been raised in a closed religious society, severing from her origin family, and eventually finding self-acceptance. The town of Squamish and her connection to the community resurfaces time and time again in the book.
Fade to Light is a raw and vulnerable story where she recounts her journey to heal and find identity after leaving the religion and losing her origin family. In it, she shares her insights on why the practice of self forgiveness and acceptance can be so challenging for some of us—and why it’s so worth it to keep it up!
